Is rap poetry at all?

The Rap Isn't Poetry
ResponderEliminarSome people may say that rap’s poetry and that look at some things, for example both use literary devices as assonance and alliteration, the two use words, both’re spoken but actually rap isn’t poetry as it’s a musical art as poetry in literary art. The rap’s a style of music that puts casual words that don’t talk about the subject of the song while poetry has a constant formal style and using words related to the subject song. For all these differences the rap couldn’t be considered poetry.
Is rap poetry?
ResponderEliminarI think yes, rap is poetry, because both, poetry and rap, are used by the authors for express their feelings. Both have compose rhymes and stylistic resources as metaphors.
I know, both styles are different, When you think in poetry, you probably think in a love or fantsy poem, because they are the most common themes. However, when you think in rap, you probably think in a song with a "modern theme" as drugs, died or love, but different to the love of the poems.

In wikipedia was write: " the rap is spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics".The components of rapping include "content", "flow" (rhythm andrhyme), and "delivery". Rapping is distinct from spoken word poetry in that it is performed in time to a beat. . It can also be found in alternative rock such as that of Cake and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Rapping is also used in Kwaito music, a genre that originated in Johannesburg, South Africa and is composed of hip hop elements.
Rapping can be delivered over a beat or without accompaniment. Stylistically, rap occupies a gray area between speech, prose, poetry, and singing. the terms "rap" and "rapping" are so closely associated with hip hop music that many use the terms interchangeably".
Conclusion: The rap is poetry although it don´t like all the people. The rap like a lot of people although it someone time it isn`t heard well. Rap is poetry,

ResponderEliminarIn my opinion yes. Because the acronym RAP mean rhythm and poetry. Also rap is street poetry because it started in the street when a group of people started to sing that type of music on the street. In both their feelings and thoughts are expressed in this songs. Also in both are used rhyme and stylistic resources.
I think the rap is poetry because the two used rhymes for express their feelings. However in my opinion, the rap express darker thinks than the poetry. For example drugs, racims, etc. The poetry only talk of love. The two are poetry but expressing diferent things.
ResponderEliminarIn my opinion the rap is poetry, because it is a way of expressing emotions and even the own problems of the society. From a beginning the poetry wanted to narrate the beauty of the world and of his around but some of his authors were denouncing the problems and the bad situations of epochs and lived moments. The rap, it is the thought of a person brings over of everything what him makes a detour, fact of a form in that the sounds are more sweet and sticky, like song, poetry. The poetry and poems sometimes were not following rules but, that the authors were giving them form according to his conveniences, like the rappers. They only want to give part of the company, and sometimes they are works that publicize a sorrow, the poverty, in short his problems, and those of his social setting. The own poem and rap are a form of freedom of moderate expression, in which it is possible to liberate the thought of the author, to reflect it or in a paper, or in a song to sing it for the streets of the city. I think even, that the rap is not valued well, and it is a protest style of music that it reveals, by means of poetry his needs, and ambitions.

ResponderEliminarI think that is yes, is a poetry because the RAP stands for rhythm and poetry. The rap was born in the street. It is a street poetry by african-americans of United States. Rap is a type of singing of rhythmic recitation of rhymes and wordplay. It is also used to express feelings and problems of society. It is used to express thoughts.

In my opinion the rap is poetry because you can explain emotions and feelings.The rap express things that happen in your society for ejample:
Eliminarracism,rupture,drugs etc... but they are expressed with a series of rhythms and sounds (music).For me it is more fun to hear poetry.

I think that the poetry is supposed to rhyme, it is supposed to have a beat and the next rhyme has to come at a certain place in the next sentence. When I said it has to come out of the heart, I don't mean it is all happy feelings. There are angry and sad feelings, too. Rap is also considered poetry because it has rhythm, beats, and music. Also I think that not all the rap is poetry because some authors use the rap for vent, and they use a strong vocabulary.

If your name says r.a.p rhytm and poetry, only that it is in English, but if it is street poetry is an element of the hip hop that comes to make a culture.

IS RAP POETRY ?
ResponderEliminarIn my opinion, rap is poetry because when you´re sad, happy or angry, you can create a song with that type of feeling, expressing what you are feeling in that moment. Maybe is not the same like the classic poetry (poems) with verse and rhyme but there are songs that have some similar words so it looks like rhyme.
For me, rap is also poetry because there are rap singers who in their song, if you listen them, you can appreciate that he/she is talking about his/her life so it is a way of express your feelings.

Rap is poetry?
ResponderEliminarI think the rap is poetry because all sings is make by the poet. This poet make poems. As well as two words mean same. Rap is make in the street in the same way the poetry is make in the street, studio, house. The rap was born in the street and the poesy is dreary because the poesy also was born in the street. The rap is used to express feelings and problems of the society and the poetry is an expression of beauty or aesthetic feeling through words, in verse or prose. Its the same of RAP.
